Our cognitive abilities, including
language, develop in various ways during infancy. The Clinical and
Developmental Cognitive Sciences Section approaches the question of how
human beings attained the use of language by clarifying how a child
acquires a language, the relationship between language acquisition and
other cognitive developments, and the underlying causes of disorders in
language acquisition. We also investigate the genesis of cognitive
functions through investigation of disorders such as Autism, Williams
Syndrome and Schizophrenia.
